A team from the Department of Accounting at the King Talal School of Business Technology (KTSBT) at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) achieved fifth place globally in the 2026 Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Competition, held in Hong Kong, among more than 1,100 teams worldwide.
This achievement came after the team successfully advanced through the regional finals, the regional semi-finals for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, and the regional stage, following their first-place victory among Jordanian universities.
The winning team, which successfully passed all competition stages, included the students: Jana Atieh, Saif AlHasan, Masa Karadsheh, Nadeen Rezqallah, and Yasmin Elayyan, under the supervision of Prof. Modar Abdullatif.
PSUT President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, stated that PSUT is proud of this achievement and distinction, which marks the first accomplishment of its kind in the history of Jordanian universities.
Prof. Abu Elhaija noted that this achievement followed an intensive journey characterized by a true marathon of evaluations, rigorous examinations, and presentations in the fields of accounting and financial analysis. The team demonstrated exceptional competence in meeting these demands, highlighting the strength and quality of the university's educational model, which aligns with the vision and directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of PSUT's Board of Trustees, in supporting academic excellence, student leadership, and delivering high-quality education that meets global standards.
The Dean of KTSBT, Dr. Adiy Tweissi, emphasized KTSBT's commitment to involving students in international competitions, as these competitions play a pivotal role in strengthening the university's international reputation and equipping students with practical skills and strategic thinking that extend beyond academic study. He added that the university provides a competitive environment that enables students to test their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios and to confront advanced challenges requiring financial analysis, decision-making, and complex problem-solving, while also enhancing presentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
The winning team also conducted a field visit to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the sixth-largest stock exchange market in the world by market capitalization, where they were introduced to the exchange's history and the stages of its development, culminating in its current globally recognized status.
